A sophisticated former-Houstonite was downsizing into a bungalow with a large art collection. The space lacked architectural detail and interest, concrete floors were darkened and height was created by installing wood beams. We needed to address lighting and added multiple wall sconces to illuminate the volume of space. Next, we drew attention to the beautiful surroundings by creating custom window treatments. We visually lengthened the overall living space by dividing it (a trick from a Chinese playbook) and installed a custom sofa, chair and media console. New life was breathed into the master with various wood tones, accents of brass and cream with stacked drapery. Ultimately, art ties it all together in unity.
